Silvy is an artist, a filmmaker, and a naturalist. Through a variety of media, she tells stories of reckoning with forces bigger than oneself. The evidence of these forces are revealed in the mundanity, minutiae, and mystery of the worlds which she composes— from a swarm of mayfly larvae persevering through polluted waters to the simple flickering of sunlight perfectly refracted through a window.
The Watershed
“The Watershed” is an experimental 16mm film that tells the story of a girl who, after witnessing her older sister’s mysterious drowning, discovers that the river and its water connects them even in her sister’s death.
