Brendan Krue

Brendan is a multimedia artist originally from Massachusetts. From a young age, he loved coloring and drawing, turning to art as a way to observe and better understand the world around him. At RISD, his practice widened and his work began to reflect the things that shape his life, including technology, the internet, family, friends, and nature. Through making art, he hopes to share his perspective on the systems and forces that shape daily life.

As a visual artist, I investigate perception as a condition that is never neutral, examining how vision is constructed, mediated, and made to produce belief. I am interested in the systems that organize image, language, and sensation, and in the ways they persuade us of coherence and presence even when built from fragmentation and instability. Rather than treating images as transparent representations, I approach them as structures that shape how reality is encountered and understood. By destabilizing familiar visual logics, I aim to create moments where viewers become aware of their own processes of seeing.
